Facilities in the Camp
World Food Programme/UNHCR provides one meal a day to the newly arrived people. There is reasonable security in the camp. After the arrival the refugees are located to the settlement camps in one or two days’ time.
A health facility in the reception Centre serves the new arrivals as well as other camp-settlers. This facility tries to bring to them the first aid need and most of them are satisfied though at times some medication are missing and bigger service are not provided. It is a great threat to the heath of refugees where a need for emergency facilitation such an ambulance to move them to the nearest hospital is needed.
In the field of education, some non-formal primary education has been recently initiated by AVSI-an Italian Catholic NGO. But no secondary or vocational education is given. Every grown up child and young person looks forward to go back to school. They also dream of learning a skill. Young people are redundant in the camps and it is very important to keep them busy.
